ANANDA IS UPDATED AND UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP! This beachfront estate is located on the prestigious Banks Road, just two miles from the town of Governors Harbour and walking distance down the beach to Tippy’s famous beachfront restaurant and bar. Ananda has been featured on TMZ and in LIFE & STYLE Magazine.
The Ananda Estate consists of a two-bedroom main house and two detached pavilions. The three houses are set around a courtyard. The centerpiece of the courtyard is a 50 x 20 foot oceanfront heated infinity pool. It is flanked on one side by a vast 400-square-foot sitting area beautifully appointed with new outdoor furniture, and on the other side by a swim-up bar, a sitting area, and an outdoor kitchen equipped with an electric grill. There is also a gas grill on the terrace. A 12 x 8 foot Zen-inspired Buddha water fountain imported from Bali overlooks this magnificent pool area and bestows its serenity on the courtyard.
Beyond the pool is a spectacular mile-long pink-sand beach, pristine and usually deserted, with only a few other houses along the full length of it. The pink of the beach and amazing aqua and turquoise of the water greet your eye from virtually every room of this estate. There are multiple outdoor beds overlooking the beach that provide wonderful places to camp out for the day, evening or overnight. Enjoy the most amazingly bright stars you have ever seen.
To add to your experience, we have lots of outdoor sports equipment including bocce ball, cornhole, and croquet. For the waterfront, we provide kayaks and paddleboards, as well as a surf board for the reefs that are 200’ from either side of the Ananda beach stairs. There is a links-style putting green in the front circle. We have Starlink super-fast internet, satellite TV with hundreds of channels and movies, and a selection of books and games. Ananda is our home, and we love to entertain, so we continue to add activities!
Entering the main house through the 10 x 6’ wide swinging Balinese doorway, you are greeted by a Caesar-stone gallery with a fully retractable wall of glass facing the ocean on the other side. The open kitchen, to your right, features Miele appliances including a 36’’refrigerator, Master Chef double oven, and glass cooktop with retractable hood. The kitchen is fully equipped with professional grade juicer, blender, Nespresso coffee machine, hotel grade cutlery, and dining ware by Fortessa.
The living area features Imported Balinese furniture and a 85-inch 4k and 3D flat screen TV. Overlooking the grounds & ocean is a sunken large dining area with an enormous teak dining table imported from Bali. The living room and kitchen have a magnificent 25-foot vaulted Balinese ceiling. The living area also features a large powder room and a laundry room.
This living area is flanked by two magnificent master bedroom suites with 20-foot vaulted ceilings. Each suite has a wall of glass with a sweeping view of the ocean. Amenities include 55-inch 4k 3D TV. The ultra-luxury bathrooms feature Caesar stone and Carrara White slab walls and floors, top-of-the-line Hansgrohe Axor fixtures, and stand-alone tubs carved of solid Carrara marble. The bedrooms are furnished with Italian furniture and white hotel-quality bedding. These main house bedrooms each include a lower built-in area for lounging or for use as additional sleeping quarters. There is also a rollaway bed available for a 9th guest.
Ananda’s two pavilions are stand-alone master bedroom suites. They feature fully retractable glass curtain walls with sweeping views of the ocean. Each pavilion has a full-size walk-in closet and a master bath with Caesar stone walls and floors, Hansgrohe Axor fixtures, and solid marble stand-alone tubs.

This is a nice property but we had several issues. First, the generator did not work and our house was without power for 18 hours which would not have been so bad if the power had been turned on before we arrived. The power was actually turned on two hours after we arrived and worked 2 hours before we lost power. Our groceries were delivered early in the day and we had a bunch of food that we had to throw out because the refrigerator was never turned on until hours after the groceries were delivered. Most of us slept outside the first night as it was over 90 degrees in the bungalows and the house. The property has a generator but it does not work and the electric grill did not work either. Matt Simon who's company rented the property was more than helpful and went above and beyond. Once the property manager found out we had a problem he was very hard to get a hold of and didn't return calls very well sometimes waiting over a day. The steps with access to the beach are in poor condition and have nails sticking out of the boards, the steps were very steep and had no railing on them. We are waiting to hear about getting reimbursed because of the food we lost but we aren't holding our breath. We scheduled a 2 hour early arrival and it was not ready for us, they had just started cleaning the property. Property manager did not start air conditioning or the refrigerator before we arrived. Most frustrating because our groceries were delivered in the morning and he let the delivery people in with the groceries yet no refrigerator was turned on. The pool was nice, the beach was beautiful, the house was very nice. I would recommend not preordering any food as we lost over $250 of food and ice and we also got to clean up the water from the ice when the power wasn't turned on. The whole situation made 2 of our 5 days miserable. I would consider a property with a working generator before this one because by looking at the generator it just hasn't been maintained.

Response from homeowner: We are extremely apologetic that the island had an extended power outage on your check-in day, which lasted until 2 in the morning, AND the generator failed. That is a really unfortunate way to start a vacation and we are very sorry. We have a technician coming from the U.S. to fix the generator and prevent this from happening to future guests. The gas grill works fine, but it does require some instruction. We will have the stairs inspected and repaired as necessary. Normally, grocery delivery works fine, and most guests do have groceries delivered. It was the combination of a long power outage and a generator failure that created the problem. I’m very surprised to hear that the property manager was not responsive. This is not normally the case. I emailed you myself several times after the power came back on, but never heard back from you.

This home is perfect for a yoga retreat, a milestone birthday with friends or a family reunion. We were an extended family with a grandchild and it was perfect. The sugar sand beach and turquoise water made us just look at each other and laugh. Beautifully appointed bedrooms. Close to everything we wanted, yet felt very exclusive. We hope to come back!

To preface, we have visited Eleuthera since 2016, and have stayed in many different properties. This is by far the most luxurious house we have rented. (All of the houses we have rented thru EVR and all been pretty true to description) Ananda is a jewel of a property. Overall I give this house an A or 4.8 out of 5 Stars. Incredible location, amazing beach, pool, kitchen, kitchen gear, beds, bed linens, bathrooms, showers, outdoor patio space, recreational gear for the beach. The beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. House was clean, prepared, and ready, easy to figure out tech features. the visitors manual compiled by owners is the best one we have found, as it provides answers to everything, and great tips for enjoying the island, and a great menu collection. (Yes, Potlatch Club is also our new favorite eatery and its very close to Ananda) Only issue we had throughout the stay is that the HVAC unit in the main house could use a tune up. The ACs worked great in the two king suite cottages, but the main house was never truly cool. The master bedroom was the least cool. Fine at night, but struggled to keep up in the day. Otherwise, this house is a 10/10. I would absolutely stay here again. And the owners were great to work with-- very helpful! We are already looking at the calendar to figure out our next trip, and I would definitely stay at Ananda!

This is our third trip, renting a house on the beach in the Bahamas. All of our trips have been spectacular. This home has definitely been the most well appointed as far as having everything you need on site goes. I loved my stay at Ananda, from the moment you walk in there are breathtaking views everywhere! The house and cabins are spacious and clean, and the beach is honestly probably one of the nicest Ive ever seen - so white that where the water touches the beach it is almost pink! Gorgeous house, pool and beach. We were often the only people on our beach. 10 minutes from grocery store. Perfect set up for my party of 8. Few things could be tweaked. One of the fan / light remotes affected the lights /fan in the other guest house that was a little maddening for the guests of that cottage. Some of the pool cushions are showing some wear. House managers very helpful with every question before and during arrival. If you need a dark bedroom, bring a sleeping mask. House was very well appointed with plenty of towels, glasses, plates, silverware. Air conditioning worked well. The most tricky thing was figuring out which light switch operated which light.
