Pickleball, the sport that is taking the world by storm, has come to Eleuthera. The Island is the perfect place to work up a sweat with friends on the pickleball court!

Pickleball is a racquet sport with elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis and its own unique rules and style of play. Like tennis, it can be played in singles or doubles. The sport, invented in 1965, has taken off and is now the fastest growing sport, according to the Sports & Fitness Industry Association. It does not require any special equipment beyond a partner, a place to play, paddles and a ball. Pickleball can be a very challenging and competitive game, but many people find that the smaller court and shorter paddle make pickleball easier to pick up than tennis. This means that players of differing skill levels can successfully play together, making it a sport for young and old alike.

Eleuthera has several options for seasoned pickleballers or those wanting to try the game. Four properties have private pickleball courts, and several other properties, those on Windermere Island, belong to the Windermere Club and have access to the Club's pickleball courts.
